Dialysis at home
The two methods of treatment, the hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis are possible for the patients wishing to stay at home.
Hemodialysis at home is proposed to the patient and his family circle after a training period for the patient to learn to master the whole technique and in particular that of the dialysis machine. In this way, the patient can take an active part in his/her treatment.
With regards to peritoneal dialysis, the auxiliary nurses and medical staff teach the patient and possibly his family circle the technique of the change of pocket.
All the techniques and materials needed for the patient's treatment are set up his/her home place.
Each month, the patient receives the all drugs prescribed for his/her dialysis.
The medical staff works hard to keep the patient autonomous and in control of his/her dialysis treatment.
