The Foundation Transplantation is a registered Charity by the decree of the Prime Minister dated May the 7th, 1992.
Its actions fall under the general interest and by definition under a disinterested.
It collaborates to the missions of public utility (hospital - teaching - research), but does not replace them, simply supports them.
Its aims are the application and the optimization of the techniques of substitution of the vital functions, whatever the physiological system, the organ, the tissue, the cell concerned.
To meet its goals, it is committed in action plans over a number of years,
The foundation's action plans are developed in care Institution
and in the medical research area
- Either through the Foundation's two technical platforms (Strasbourg and Rouffach)
- or in university laboratories (such as INSERM or CNRS) supported by the Foundation
