Dialysis while you are on holidays (if you are registered at the French National Insurance)
The admission of holiday-makers to the Fondation Transplantation
The patient wishing to have dialysis temporaly (during his/her holidays, in case of a family change, etc) in a site, which is not its usual place of treatment, must make the request to his/her nephrologist.
After an evaluation of the situation of the patient and of the organization of dialysis on the site of interest, the hospital-foundation pole ensures with the "Aider Bourgogne" or "Osmose Franche-Comté" services of the practical feasibility of the visitors' stay (availability of places, equipment, drugs stock).
After the cheaking of these issues, the administrative admission takes on two options:
- Either the patient has dialysis in one of the two regional delegations of the Foundation, Aider or Osmose: in this case and as soon as the reqest has been accepted, the administrative department at the foundation must be informed of the dates of the stay to be able to inform the National Health Insurance and to organise the vistor's stay.
- Or, the patient has dialysis in a different organization: in this case, the board department of the Foundation must put together, in connection with the medical file in the pole, an administrative and pharmaceutical file which includes in particular:
- a copy of the Health Insurance Card (or certificate of delivery of the "Vitale" Card)
- a certificate attesting that the patient agrees to have a dialysis outside a hospital centre.
In the particular case of the dialysis units shared by several poles, The patient informed of the medical teams operating at these poles . Then, the patient freely chooses and contact the medical team of his/her choice, who is in charge of launching the above-mentioned procedure.
