1. Grants to support young researchers  projects


Each year, the Scientific Council of the Foundation selects young researchers projects who are alloted for their research work.

In june 2007, The Foundation allotted 7 grants requested by young university researchers for a total amount of 113 000 euros.

2. The support brought to university hospital and universities

The Research is supported by the Foundation through the public establishments of scientific and technical research such as Inserm and CNRS.

In the East, the Foundation signs conventions with the university hospital: those of Nancy, of Strasbourg, of Besancon of Dijon but also with university laboratories.

In each one of these areas, the scientific council of the Foundation privileges one or two axes over several years. Vascular surgery and analysis of the biological data in Dijon, in Besancon biotherapy and pharmacology, in Nancy clinical trials; in Strasbourg experimental surgery.

 

3.The technical Platforms in Alsace

Thanks to you, the Foundation carries out important installations of research

In Strasbourg (site of Hautepierre), the Foundation has made up surfaces:

  • a block of experimental surgery for animals, animaleries
  • biological laboratories specifically equipped (cells cultures)
  • buildings annex for teaching

In Haute Alsace, in Rouffach, the Foundation holds an imagery centre focused on the central nervous system. The complex within the hospistal centre is composed by a pharmacodynamic study centre, a radiological (MRI) development study centre, a centre housing a magneto-encephalography (MEG) set equipment, and a volunteers centre of 72 places.

These installations are mainly used by the group FORENAP and offer the possibility toaccommodate public research investigations.

To remain in direct liaison with the patients who must benefit first of medical research, the Foundation manages care institution.

2.Assistance to the patients in a financially critical situation

The Foundation Transplantation manages a social budget which enables it to help patients:

  • Patients in difficulty: beyond the assistance of the adequate social services, the Foundation examines the files transmitted by the medical teams. Generally, the funds are used to support medical procedures, nurse assistance, biological analyzes not reimbursed by the French National Health  insurance, dwelling adjustement for the treatment equipment and to help critical situations.
  • Healthcare Centers of the Foundation: balanced financially by the social budget of the Foundation, the healthcare Centers of Saone-et-Loire, of Haut-Doubs and of Côte d'Or place at the disposal of the medical consultations and acts except act of dialysis. In 2005, 1045 consultations were practiced in the healthcare Centers. The invoicing of the French National Health insurance covers 60% of the cost of them.
